The book that I am reading is called “Wake”. This book is very suspense, interesting, and you don’t want to stop reading it. It is about a 17 year old girl named Janie. It is written in third person so it’s from Janie’s point of view.
Janie is a poor girl, she does not have many things like the other kids do. Janie has to work so she can provide for herself. The kids she goes to school with are rich or should I say their parents are rich so spoiled children. They make fun of her because of the clothes she wears. One of the girls is a president of a club called “make Janie Hannagan miserable”.
Janie is a dream catcher and has been since she was eight years old. This means that when someone is near her she gets sucked into their dream. She does not know why this happens but she cannot pull herself out of it. When she is sucked into a dream she loses her eye sight, her body gets numb, and it takes awhile for everything to come back to her.
When Janie is in study hall, a lot of people sleep at that time, so it is hard for her not to get sucked into a dream. There is this boy Cabel who always throws her a snack or makes a distraction but at first she doesn’t know who he is. At first he ignores her but the truth about him is he is a student but is undercover trying to do a drug bust. After that Cabel and Janie get to know each other and she joins him on being uncover cops. She has trusted him enough to tell him her secret. They start falling in love and Cabel is like Janie in many ways.
They have a lot In common because their parents don’t care about them; they have a lot going on right now.
This story relates in life because you don’t know who you can really trust. You are so scared to get close to someone because you are afraid of getting hurt. You’re always going to have those bad friends or those great friends you know or think you can really trust and depend on. Life is all about taking chances.
