Final Essay..

What do you see in this picture? I see strong heroes. I see U.S Marines. They fight for our country because they know they are doing the right thing. I chose this picture because my Uncle was a Marine for 4 years. His dream always wanted to be a Marine and he finally did what he wanted to do most of all. He said he loved it but he came back home because his family was more important he has two children that he never really got to see.

My uncle and I are very close, were only 11 years apart I am 15 years old and he just turned 26. When my uncle left I was so devastated and scared I didn’t know what to think I didn’t know if I was going to ever see him again. When he would come visit everyone it was great we would spend as much time with him as possible but the day he would have to go back that’s when the tears would come back. My aunty his wife stayed in Albuquerque but when we heard that they had to leave as well that was hard to. They were going to be far away, they had to live in North Carolina.

After that I felt empty I thought I would never see them either. It was really hard for my aunty because she was raising two children practically on her own. She had her second baby without my uncle because he was overseas. So I can’t imagine how she felt. When my Uncle graduated from Boot Camps we all got to go to California now that was fun. When we were looking for my Uncle we couldn’t find him until he came up to us. He looked so different we didn’t recognize him. That moment I was so happy that I got to see him I was so proud of him.

I do look up to my uncle because he is such a strong person and when he came back from war he took things very well. He wasn’t the same person but he wasn’t too different. He is still the uncle that I love and is really close to. I wouldn’t want to trade him for the world. He says he misses it and that he would like to go back but right now I think he is focused on his family but he loved what he did and that was fighting for our country. I love my uncle to death and I thank him for all that he has done for me and the family. He is my hero.
