Being Brave!

In this picture you might just see soldiers and caskets, but I see men who are brave and who have a lot of courage to be doing what they are doing. They probably are scared to be at war but they don’t let you see the fear in them, they know they are doing something good they know they have to stay strong.

Let me tell you about a time when I had to be strong not only for myself but for my family also. About Five years ago my Uncle joined the Marines, that’s what he wanted to do when he got out of High School, well that’s all he ever talked about doing. My Uncle went into the Marines for four years. He is a very strong person a lot of people look up to him. In this I had to be strong because my uncle and I are pretty close so having to wonder where he is, if he’s ok, or what’s going on was very scary. I wouldn’t show that I was scared or sad because I knew I would make people in my family cry, or sad. I knew what my Uncle was doing was something good; he was fighting for our country. My uncle loved the Marines the reason why he got out was because he knew his family was more important. He says he misses it he would want to go back but to go to war in the first place takes a lot of courage and he is a very strong person.

I think life is all about being strong and try to face your fears. It’s all about taking chances, so do what you want to the most don’t let your shyness, your fears, or other people get in your way because we’re living one day at a time and you don’t want to live your life with any regrets. If you or anyone else doesn’t think you could do something don’t just give up prove them wrong, show them that anything is possible and you can do whatever you set your mind to it. Don’t let anyone put you down, if someone is hurting, or picking on you confront them they will just keep doing it if you do anything about it step up you have the courage to do anything.

The thing I hate the most is talking in front of people. I think that’s a lot of peoples fear also. Well at church we would have to sing in front of everyone for Christmas, I would get so nervous where I wouldn’t want to sing anymore. I knew there was going to be other people up there with me but the thing that would scare me the most is the fact that everyone was going to be staring at me. Well I wasn’t going to let my fear get in the way of doing something I like so when I would get up on the stage I wouldn’t look at the people, I would look at the top of their heads and clear my mind. While we were singing I wasn’t so nervous anymore and at the end I was happy because I over came my fears so I felt really good after.

So don’t let anything get in your way of living life to the fullest and doing what you like to do the most. Life is what you make it.

Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen (Churchill, Winston).
